George Youngblood

This was one of the best fellas you ever could hope to meet. He would give you the shirt right off'n his back.
We lost George a few years back. We sure as hell miss him.

I got this note on a Thursday morning as I was fixin' to leave for the Fall 2004 Rendezvous.
I can think of no better tribute to a fine man and a great Friend.
It surprised me and touched my heart.
I want to share this note with y'all. It is from Tyler Youngblood Townes.
----------George Youngblood-----------
aka "Georgie"---was and will always be my brother!
My daughter was browsing the net when she found your site! What a touching thrill to see Georgie's picture up there! You all will probably never fully know what you meant to him and consequently to Donna and to us, the rest of his family. Our dad used to love to tell all the snoots in Charleston who love to brag about their ancestors, that we were descended from Cherokee Indian horse thieves. When I see Georgie in that picture, I know our ancestors and descendents have much to be proud of and much to live up to. Yes, he was a wonderful man, a terrific brother, and as stubborn as a mule can be I thank you for the tribute. He was truly loved by many and missed by us all. His nieces and nephews will always cherish his antics--did he ever share his ballerina/police woman dance with y'all? Again, you have touched us deeply! Yesterday would have been my mother's 91st birthday a! nd I know that Georgie had her and Daddy celebrating. We will all be blessed someday at that grand Rendezvous! Won't it be interesting to see what Georgie has been up to---of course, several days before he left us, he told his sisters and brother that he wasn't sure he'd be allowed through the Pearly Gates, but would be locked up in a cage until our mother convinced God to let him out. I guess he knew he was safe as our mother had special connections.God bless all of you who touched his life, and ours, and were touched by his. THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As soon as possible, we will have a photo of the rest of our friends who are trapping on rivers none of us have seen yet.
